Welsh Locums Connecting primary care locums and practices

Terms and Conditions

No legalese!

Old T&Cs - Jan 2019

11/10/19 - No charge for placing long-term locum adverts, as practices are expected to notify of agreed sessions so the standard per-session booking fee can be charged.

10/10/19 - Updated to make clear that a booking fee may be charged for any additional shifts a locum is requested to do for a practice after being introduced through the site - this does not apply to locums who have had ad hoc contact with the practice previously through another route

20/01/19 - Updated to include text message costs

1) The site aims to connect locums and practices.   It does not act as an agency.  On the associated discussion group no discussion is allowed of negotiable fees; no one may use the site to engage in any form of rate-fixing.

2) While locums who join the site are usually verified by GMC number, it is necessary to check that the locum has no relevant GMC restrictions, appropriate indemnity cover, and is on the Wales Performer's List.  The site may try to facilitate provision of this information from the locum, but it is incumbent on practices to verify this information, as they would normally for any new locum.

3) From Oct 11th 2019, the following charges will apply to practices
- £2 per booked (not just requested) session
- £0 for a long-term locum advert (the assumption being that the practice will notify the site of agreed sessions so the usual per-session booking fee can be levied)
- £10 for a permanent position advert

There is also a charge of 5p per text message sent to a practice user or on their behalf; estimates will be given when you choose to send text messages.

New practices to the site are given a £10 credit so they can test out the site without commitment.  Practices will be invoiced annually or when a reasonable amount (currently set at £150) has accrued.

4) Repeat work offered to locums who have been introduced through the site carries the same per-session booking fee as above.  Both locums and practices are able to notify the site of extra sessions which have been agreed.  This does not apply to locums who have been contacted by the practice through other routes previously.

5) No liability can be assumed for any loss involving the use of the site, including but not limited to:
- Any site issues.
- Failure of a locum to attend a booked shift.  Please do notify me about these issues, however, as repeated episodes would lead to the user being blocked from the site.
- Disagreements with practices over what rates, dates, or duties have been agreed.  These should normally be clear from the agreed booking emails and the locum's terms and conditions, if any.  All parties are advised to keep emails relating to bookings to refer to at a later date if necessary.  Copies of emails sent by the site are kept for several months if needed.
